It wasn't long ago that electric vertical take off aircraft were a pipe dream. Now there are big money players in the game and eVTOL development abounds. Vahana is under development by Airbus subsidiary A³ (A cubed) for urban air mobility. The prototypes have a cockpit for a pilot, but production aircraft are planned to be single passenger autonomous vehicles.

The Luscombe 4 was a simplified version of the company's first aircraft, the Luscombe Phantom. The Phantom had an all metal fuselage with many compound curves and a luxury interior that failed to sell in the depression era 1930s. Single curve metal fuselage panels reduced costs, but the Luscombe 4's performance suffered and only six were built. The company's next design, the Luscombe 8 Silvaire was much more successful.

Arrival days and departure day at the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford are usually very good for photography. Aircraft of the static will show themselves without people, fences, market stalls, flags, fairground amusement and so on. Likewise this Ukrainian Air Force Il-76, coming from the static show on that Monday departure and taxying to the runway.

Designed for long range bomber escort, this second XP-82 was accepted by the US Air Force as 44-83887 on September 11, 1945, just after the end of WWII. Used by North American for the type's development until March 1946, the aircraft was assigned to NACA (forerunner to NASA) in 1947. Damaged after sliding off an icy runway in February 1950, it was sold to collector Walter Soplata as scrap in the mid-50s. One of the few aircraft to be let out of his collection, in 2008 the Twin Mustang began a 10 year restoration and flew again in December 31, 2018.
