Delivered as YU-BBL in 1964, sold as SL-DAJ in 1992 and to S5-DAJ by 2002. Became OK-DAJ in July 2007 and now operated by the Aeroklub Zbraslavice.

A nice angle on this original 1918 Blériot XI, owned and flown by Mikael Carlson, while making a left turn for landing with Burg Teck gracing the background. This aircraft was licence-built in Sweden in 1918 by AB Enoch Thulin Aeroplanfabrik (AETA), under the name Thulin A. In 1986 Mikael found it in a barn in disassembled but complete condition, restored it, and first flew it in 1991. Mikael keeps his planes at his private airstrip at Kvarnhem, Sebbarp in Löberöd, Sweden.

An early Harvard, built in Canada for the USAAF as 42-787, then RAF FE590, Swiss AF U-322 and briefly G-AXCR. Came to West-Germany in 1969. It is owned by Walter Eichhorn since 1991, and based at Elz, Germany. It's a pity that it carries so much advertising, but it's still a nice aircraft.

This Kaydet, now owned by Michael Schmitt and based at Egelsbach in Germany, was built in 1942 for the USAAF as PT-17 42-16295.

This splendid Husky is ex G-DOGY, N11UK

This aircraft was built in 1929 (84 years old in this photo!), and is maintained by owner Alois Bader in period Pacific Air Transport Air Mail colours, with C.A.M. number 8. He flies it out of Mengen-Hohentengen. On the nose it says "City of San Francisco - Crissy Field", which possibly was this aircraft's base in the 1930s.

Built in 1938 for the French Air Force as MS.315 No. 279 and converted to MS.317 in 1963 by fitting it with a Continental W-670K engine. Now owned by Walter Klocker, who flies it in its original French markings out of Mengen, Germany. Only a few airworthy examples of this type remain in the world.

A magnificent TBM-3E Avenger, owned by Charly Trachsel and Laurent Calane, and based at Lausanne in Switzerland. The aircraft is powered by its original and very impressive 1925hp Wright Double Cyclone R-2600-20 engine, and wears the markings of Marine Torpedo Squadron 132, based in 1945 on the escort carrier USS Cape Gloucester (CVE-109). The two 220 ltr droppable under-wing tanks give the aircraft extra range for remote airshow locations.

Licence-built in 1941 by F+W Emmen for the Swiss Air Force as J-143. Ended up in a playground in the late 1950s but salvaged intact circa 1965. Stored in a shed for many years until restored to flying condition in the 1990s and registered as HB-RCF in Jan 1996. Now owned by Eric Chardonnens and based at Aerodrôme des Placettes in Bex, Switszerland. Flown in French AF markings until repainted in these original Swiss markings as J-143 in 2013. Does not appear to carry its Swiss registration anymore.

This rare aircraft was an amazing 84 years old when this photo was shot (built in 1929) and is now owned by Uschi Kälberer and based at Mengen-Hohentengen.

This Corsair was delivered to the US Navy in 1945 as Bu96995 and later served with the Hondurean AF as FAH614. After a warbird career in the USA as N4908M, it is now owned by Red Bull at Salzburg in Austria, appropriately coded "RB".

This 1940-built Taifun was captured by the Americans in Tunisia in 1943 and brought to the USA. It was acquired by Lufthansa Traditionsflug and returned to Germany in 1990. They restored it to flying condition at Hamburg, where it is still based today. It has the Lufthansa logo on the fin and is named after famed German aviator Elly Beinhorn.

Although registered in Latvia, this classic is based at Birrfeld in Switzerland. The aircraft is named "Rusalka" and owned by Jean Vögelin of the Antonov Club Avianna. It was delivered from Lithuania to Switzerland on 30 Sep 2007.

Photographed at this angle demonstrates why this Reliant is nicknamed "Gullwing". Stefan Ulrich Kühlbrey flies this rare 1937-built Stinson from its base at Stuttgart-Pattonville in Germany. It carries nice "Gullwing Airlines" titles (which is not and never was a genuine airline), and an equally nice period "Stinson Power since the Year 1937" logo.

Built by SNCAN in France in 1946, for the French Air Force. This Stampe came to Germany in 1982. The four names "Gerd Mario Günter Holger" on the fuselage are the first names of the co-owners: Gerd Mätz, Mario Frenk, Günter Rauscher and Holger Steindorf. They have owned this lovely aircraft since 1992.

Oldest flying Messerschmitt in the world. First flight as D-IBHS on 28 Mar 1937 and delivered to the Luftwaffe (coded "RC-YZ" by 1944). Seized by the RAF in France in 1945 and serialled VH762 in Jul 1945. To F-BBRH in 1948, cancelled 4 Dec 1958 on export to Denmark. Restored to flying condition and became OY-AIH on 29 Oct 1960. Flown as Luftwaffe "RC-YZ", last flight circa 1996. Cancelled 10 Jul 2003 on export to Germany. To D-EBFW on 14 Aug 2003, first flight as such 1 Apr 2004. Now owned by Benno Herrmann, Franz Kerzendorf, Tine Kirchberg and Hans Jürgen Storck, and flying out of Reichelsheim. Registration D-IBFW is fictious, reportedly used by a 1937 factory Taifun demonstrator.

Stephan Gottwald brought his rare 1932-built Waco to Hahnweide, from its home base at Lauterbach in Germany.

"Miss Goosebay" is Uwe Förster's aircraft, delivered to the USAAF as AT-6C 42-43899 on May 3, 1943. In 1949 it was rebuilt as T-6G, and received new serial 49-3357. It went to the Spanish AF in 1957 as E.16-109, where it served until sold in auction in 1984. It then became N6593D in 1990 and underwent an extensive restoration in 1994-1997, as a "Super 6" modification with a 3-bladed prop. In the summer of 2000 the Texan came to Germany, where it now flies out of Bayreuth. The serial 493357 is carried in very small print below the tailplane.

Now owned by Christophe Brunelière and flying out of Avignon, France, this Skyraider was delivered to the US Navy as Bu127002 in 1951. Ten years later it was transferred to the French Air Force (keeping the same serial), in which markings it is still flying today.

Immaculate Polish 1978-built sprayer aircraft, registered to Interflug in 1979 as DDR-TAB and still flying in their colours. Became D-FOAB after the re-unification and is now owned by Dieter Gehling. It normally flies out Stadtlohn.
