The Twotter was once registered VP-FAQ and painted in an all red color scheme while serving the British Antarctic Survey. It also flew in Norway as LN-FKB. But since 1988 it was registered to Air Serve and flew quite along time through the African continent. In 2013 it returned to USA and was eventually sold to a Mexican (XT-UTK) operator but is now back to its birthing-grounds, Canada as C-FZDQ flying out of Calgery.

This Mi-35 crashed on landing after being shot at by rebels near Abeche on 12 June 2008. Both pilots escaped without injuries but the helicopter was heavily damaged. The wreck was transported to N'Djamena were it was prepared for transportation to Russia for repairs.
