Built as a F-4J, this Phantom was delivered in the early 70s to the US Navy and started to serve VF-154. It was transferred to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) FOUR in '76 just after it was converted to F-4S. The Spook served as the prototype for the F-4S from Jul'77. It was later transferred to VMFA-321 and returned to VX-4 in the famous Vandy One colours (as pictured). By early '92 it was modified to QF-4S and was temporarly stored at Cherry Point up to Aug'99 and was transferred to VX-30. It was struck of charge on 17 Aug'04 and was last seen as stored at Fallon in late 2006.

Delivered to the US Navy in January 1986, this weathered looking F-14A was pictured at the Miramar flightline when serving VF-111 Sundowners. The aircraft was written off on 3 October 2002 in Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Key West (FL). Both crewmembers ejected safely. Funny thing is, that this was the airframe of which the right part of the tail was found by civilians at Long Strand near Cork, Ireland (!) on 5 May 2006.

A Fighting Renegades F-14B+ captured low over the NAS Miramar (CA) runway. The F-14B Block 150 was ordered in fiscal year 1987 and VF-24 was its first user. The squadron was equipped with the upgraded Tomcat from 1989 to 1992. But there were too less F-14Bs and other squadrons received higher priority, so the Renegades transitioned back to F-14A. This 163226 became an F-14B Avionics Upgrade test aircraft with VX-9 Det Point Mugu ('codes XF-241) from July 1996. This Skyhawk was stored at AMARC from June 1978 to March 1980 (inventory code 3A525). The US Navy showed interest again in the hot rod and brought it back to live via NARF Pensacola (FL). Its final assignment was with the adversary squadron VF-126 "Bandits" and flew from NAS Miramar up to the late ninetees. It was last seen in 1993 at the dump of Miramar. Current fate unknown.
