This Tomcats Harrier (fiscal year 1988) made its first flight on 16 February 1989 and was delivered to VMA-311 in April 1989. It served servarl USMC squadrons and was multiple times deployed as part of an Aviation Combat Element on board an amphibious carrier before it was modified to an AV-8B+(R). The refurbished Harrier then was reserialled to 165580 and received construction number 317. Eventually, the Harrier was withdrawn from use on 24 May 2000. Its current whereabouts are unknown.
