Stored at Davis Monthan after service with 8 Bomb Squadron, 35 Tactical Fighter Wing, in the Vietnam war theatre. This aircraft's status varied between B-57B and EB-57B, it was the former when seen at DM in 1971, Now preserved at the USAFM.
Initially delivered as an AD-5 to the US Navy. Transferred to the USAF retaining its USN BuAer number. Marked on fin as AF.52.866 and on its technical data block as 52-133866. Lately operated by the 4407 Combat Crew Training Squadron at Eglin AFB.
A very rare ship - one of just four conversions of the Neptune to AP-2H standard. The ASW equipment was deleted and was replaced by sensors and additional attack armament to patrol the Viet Cong trails at night from VAH-21 "Roadrunners" base at Cam Ranh Bay SVN. Very small 'SL' unit code applied near foot of fin.
Built for USN as SNB-3 Navigator. Rebuilt as UC-45J and latterly operated by VT-10 training squadron wearing hi viz colour scheme. In storage at DMA after retirement. Registered as N40079 in 1974, but cancelled in 1977, fate unknown.
