Delivered new Sep 94. This was the aircraft that was tragically written off in shallow waters 2km from Bahrain Airport on 23 Aug 2000 whilst conducting a 360 orbit on short final followed by a go around. For more details you can refer to the ASN report.
This 343 was delivered to Gulf Air in August 1994. Apart from a lease to Philippine Airlines for about a year it flew its whole commercial life with the airline and is pictured here taxying out to rw27R for departure. The frame was withdrawn from use and ferried to Sanford (SFB) in December 2009 to be scrapped.
Pictured departing off rw27R, note at this time GF aircraft still wore the three flags as this was before the withdrawal of UAE (Abu Dhabi, to form Etihad) and Oman (to form Oman Air). This plane was delivered to Gulf Air in June 1999 and went on to wear the 'Bahrain F1 Grand Prix' special colours as A9C-KB. The frame was wfu in March 2019, ferried to St. Athan (DGX) and subsequently scrapped.
