Built by Fieseler Flugzeugbau, Kassel in 1940, this Fi-156C-3 was delivered to Swedish Air Force and served until 1948. It became D-EBOY and N156SV before it was bought by the National Museum of the USAF in 1974 for display. It received the markings of the Storch used by Field Marshal Erwin Rommel in North Africa. The starbord side carries a blue Edelweiss emblem on the nose, whereas the port side has this stylised swastika palm tree.

The Swedish Air Force operated a total of 26 S14s, or Fi-156 Storch, some of which landed in Sweden with refugees on board during WW II and were put into service. The aircraft served in various missions, with or without skis. After their retirement in 1961, all were sold to Austria and Germany, where some are still privately flown today. In 1967, this example was traced, bought back and restored at Malmen for preservation in the Flygvapenmuseum.

This Storch was built at Choceň, Czechoslovakia in 1944. It was captured at Flensburg in 1945 and flown to Britain for evaluation and, later, use in support of test work at the RAE. It was retired from flying in 1955 and allocated to the Air Historical Branch collection in late 1956. It was properly restored in the 1970s and early 1980s while part of the historic collection at St Athan. It was moved to Cosford in 1989 and has been preserved there ever since.

The Flygvapnet had 26 examples of the Fi-156, renamed S 14 in Sweden, some of which came from the Luftwaffe as refugees and deserters fled to Sweden from Germany during WWII and were then interred in the country. The Flygvapnet sold all copies of the S 14 abroad when the aircraft was taken out of service. The S 14 at the Flygvapenmuseum is built from parts from two different aircraft, the major sections from 3815, that were bought from Austria in the late 1960s.
