This is the first major air show held in Northeast India to mark the 93rd anniversary of the Indian Air Force that was formed on 8 Oct 1932.

Flying in the hands of Wg Cdr. Udai Pratap Singh at Aero India 2019, the Saras (Sanskrit: Crane) project has undergone a revival since Feb 2017. Featuring an improved flight control system and radar, Saras is designed as a light transport aircraft intended as a 9-14 seat commuter with the capability to operate from hot and high-altitude airfields.

The Indian Air Force is the largest C-17 operator after the USAF with a fleet of eleven aircraft.

The ll-76 tankers that supported the Indian Su-30 deployment to Gran Canaria unfortunately went to Istres, but two C-17s carried the crews' toothbrushes.

SB124, SB147, SB150 and SB333 were the four Su-30s from 15 Wing that deployed to Gran Canaria all the way from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

The IAF has received no less than 272 Su-30MKI fighters, most of them assembled or built at Nasik in India. A contract for twelve attrition replacements was signed in 2024.

The Indian Air Force participated in this year's Ocean Sky exercise.

First delivered to the RAF as XX143 in April 1974, the following year this Jaguar suffered a bird strike which took almost two years to repair at Warton. Flown again in late 1978 as G-27-321 after Jaguar International upgrade and loaned to the Indian AF as part of a batch of 16 GR.1s and two T.2s to assist with assimilation of type into Indian service. Returned to UK just before this Abingdon show and given T.2A upgrade. Served 226 OCU, 54 Sqdn and 16(R) Sqdn. Crashed into Moray Firth when student shut down the wrong engine after an engine fire on 18th September 1996, pilots ejecting safely

A rare exhibit in this museum is an example of Kurt Tank's HF-24 design for India. The cost and lack of capability of the 147 Maruts built compared to contemporary aircraft were often criticised, although it acquitted itself relatively well in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971. All were withdrawn in the 1980s and 10 have been preserved. This example was previously in the hands of the Deutsches Museum Flugwerft at Schleissheim near Munich

This MiG-27UPG from No. 29 Sqn "Scorpions" is a recent addition to IAF Museum Palam. Last unit to receive the MiG-27ML, Scorpions stood down their MiG-27UPGs on 27 Dec 2019. Units to fly the MiG-27ML before the MiG-27UPG included No. 222 "Tigersharks," No. 9 "Wolfpack," No. 18 "Flying Bullets," No. 22 "Swifts," No. 2 "Winged Arrows" and No. 10 Sqn "Winged Daggers." The IAF was the largest Flogger operator outside the Soviet Union, previously having flown the MiG-23BN, MiG-23UB, MiG-23MF and MiG-27M. The MiG-27ML was used against Pakistani positions in 1999 during Op Safed Sagar.

Speed machine from No. 35 Sqn "Rapiers" on display at IAF Museum Palam. The aircraft was originally flown by No. 102 Sqn "Trisonics" from 1981 till the unit was numberplated in 2003 and its assets transferred to Rapiers, which flew the type till 2006 alongside its MiG-21Ms. The nose contained five vertical and oblique cameras and IR sensors. These aircraft provided yeoman service to the IAF in the recce role.

Mock-up on display at the HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum, Bangalore. HAL's intermediate jet trainer Sitara (Hindi: star) first flew on 7 March 2003 with the SNECMA Larzac 14.1 kN turbofan, which was later upgraded to the NPO Saturn AL-551 turbofan developing 16.9 kN thrust. Sixteen limited series production aircraft were built. The IAF placed an initial order for 73 aircraft which was cancelled due to stall and spin characteristics, leading to redesign.

The only foreign customer for the Iskra was the Indian AF, which operated a total of 64 Iskra bis D aircraft from 1975 until 2004. The museum has repainted a Polish Air Force Iskra 1415 into the scheme worn by Indian W1741.
