First delivered to the RAF as XX143 in April 1974, the following year this Jaguar suffered a bird strike which took almost two years to repair at Warton. Flown again in late 1978 as G-27-321 after Jaguar International upgrade and loaned to the Indian AF as part of a batch of 16 GR.1s and two T.2s to assist with assimilation of type into Indian service. Returned to UK just before this Abingdon show and given T.2A upgrade. Served 226 OCU, 54 Sqdn and 16(R) Sqdn. Crashed into Moray Firth when student shut down the wrong engine after an engine fire on 18th September 1996, pilots ejecting safely This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
