The livery and markings on this Yak are very appropriate as it started its career as "71 yellow" (thoughs some sources say 75) with the DOSAAF. It subsequently went to the Ukrainian AF with the same ID, then became civilian as UR-BFP. Moved along as LY-AOY, G-ETHI and RA-3513K to finally be registered as shown in March 2013. Built in 1989.

The Antonov A-13 was a Soviet aerobatic sailplane flown in the 1950s and 1960s. It was a small, single-seat, all-metal aircraft developed from the A-11 which could optionally be fitted with that aircraft's longer-span wings. The Antonov A-9 was a single-seat sailplane designed and built in the USSR. In 1952, on the basis of the A-9, A Manotskov developed an original experimental glider with flapping spring-mounted wing - the Kazhuk. It was first flown in 1953 and on 9 June 1954, it participated in the air show at Tushino airfield. Eventually only 27 were built. The KAI-19 was a high performance, all-metal sailplane, built with advanced techniques in the USSR in the early 1960s. The KAI-19 landed on an electrically operated, fully retractable monowheel with an oleo strut and a disc brake. Since August 2006, this example has been reported with the museum collection. The number on the tail is the museum inventory number.
