The Guayaquil Air Show 2004 provided the opportunity to come up close with this quiet giant, it was stored here for a number of years before it moved on to its new location in the South of Ecuador.

Probably the only surviving Canadair CC-106 Yukon in the World preserved as a disco and bar in the city of Cuenca. This plane used to fly for the Ecuadorian cargo airline ANDES and was withdrawn from use in 1986 and left in Guayaquil until 2010 when it was moved to Cuenca. Before it was moved, a Canadian group showed interest on taking the aircraft back to Canada but they failed. I'm glad to see this plane is getting a second life.

Ex Canadian AF CC-106. According to my information this aircraft was stored and scrapped in Kinshassa. The location does not look like Africa and looking at the taxi way lighting could be Switzerland. Any help on the location is appreciated.

Delivered to the RCAF as 16666 then reserialled as 15932 in 1962. Renamed to Canadian Armed Forces in 1968. Reserialled to 106932 in 1970. To Beaver Enterprises as CF-JSN in 1971 and stored at Montreal then to Andes Aitlines as HC-AZH in 1974. Withdrawn from use at Guayaquil in 1986. Moved to Cuenca in 2010 and used as a bar/disco.

Aircraft Name "Hoto Mbio"

Hard to see from outside the airport perimeter was this CL-44, ex Andes Airlines/Andes Air Cargo. Several years later a Canadian group showed interest to get the airplane back to Canada, but they failed. Soon after that it was removed and placed near a Discotheca in Cuenca, Ecuador.

Carries "United Nations" logo on fin. Looks to have had a new rudder fitted which has yet to be painted. To HC-AZH.

Former Andes Air Cargo HC-AZH. It was retired from service sometime in the 90's and was stored in Guayaquil for many years. In 2010 it was dismantled and taken to Cuenca where it now serves as a bar / discotheque.

Former Andes Airlines / Andes Air Cargo HC-AZH. On this photo you can also see a T-28D former Ecuadorian Air Force registered TB-572, SN 174-110. Former registration 51-3572. You can also see an untitled (former Ecuadorian Air Force) Sikorsky H-19 Chickasaw. The CL-44 has been preserved as a bar / disco in Cuenca. The fate of these last 2 aircraft is unknown.

Gatwick was a major European hub for the Canadian Armed Forces. Douglas Dakotas and Bristol Freighters ferried personnel from and to France and Germany while the Hercules and Yukon were used across the Atlantic. Delivered to the RCAF in 1961, this one went to Zaire in 1974 and scrapped there in 1983.

Built for Royal Canadian Air Force as 16666, later 15932 and 106932. Sold to Beaver Enterprises in November 1971 and stored. To Andes Airlines as HC-AZH in May 1974. Stored at Guayaquil from Jan 1986.

Operated in the VIP transport role by 412 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force between February 1961 and sale in late 1971.

My 1975 shot of this aircraft also at Miami shows her as OB-R-1005 of Aeronaves del Peru. Seen after storage there and preparation for a new career in Africa. Originally RCAF Yukon 15926/106926 sold as LV-JZR in 6.72. Scrapped at Kinshasa by the mid/late 1980s
