When the museum closed and its contents were auctioned in May 1983 it sold for £26,000 to Paul Raymond for the still-born London War Museum. It was auctioned again in 1985 selling to Kermit Weeks' Flying Heritage Collection for £24,000. It was stored at North Weald for several years, then Norfolk, arriving at Duxford in 2014. Believed to have subsequently departed to the USA.

The exhibited aircraft is one of about 200 examples of the CASA 2.111B version produced under licence until 1956 by the Spanish company Construcciones Aeronáuticas S.A. (CASA) in Tablada, with two British Rolls Royce engines in place of the German engines. After it was taken out of service by the Spanish Air Force in 1967, the plane was used in the film Battle of Britain. It flew for the last time in September 1970.

The C-2.111 is one of about 200 examples produced under licence until 1956 by the CASA in Tablada. After WWII, availability of the German-built Junkers engines was obviously problematic and so CASA used instead the R-R Merlin 500 - these becoming the B and D-versions. This example was retired by the EdA in 1967 but then used in the film 'Battle of Britain. It flew for the last time at in September 1970 and is now on display at theDeutsches Museum - Flugwerft Schleissheim.

Formerly B.21-57 (or DB.21-37) of the Spanish AF, this C-2.111 flew from Duxford and Bovingdon during the filming of "Battle of Britain" in 1967/68. Seen here being lifted into the HAM compound on Aviation Way at Southend Airport, after the closure it was dismantled and placed into store, finding its way to North Weald. Said to have been sold in the US but remains stored, for some years in Norfolk but moved to Duxford in 2015
