Its outer wings had been replaced with those from the museum's other Proctor G-AOBW in 1971 when that one was scrapped. Sold for £2200 when the contents of the museum were auctioned in May 1983 and intended for the London War Museum. Subsequent history uncertain.

XE489 recently repainted as "XE364" on display at the Grand Opening Day of the Historic Aircraft Museum. The museum closed in May 1983 and the contents auctioned, XE489 fetching £6500. Became G-JETH. The wing spar attachments were found to be cut through so FB.3 WM983 was acquired and became G-JETH instead. XE489 with the wings of WM983 (in themselves from WV909!) was sold in the Netherlands. The aircraft marked as "XE489" at Charlwood is G-JETH with the fuselage of WM983 and just the wings from the original XE489.
