K25 slide scan. Built 1944 as 43-48590 for USAAF, transferred to US Army 1972 as 43-8950. Civilianized 1975 as Sprayer N834M for Lee County Mosquito Control. Donated to Wings of Dream Aviation Museum and flown to Keystone Heights, FL in 2013. Ferried to Tampa Executive in 2017 and finally to Zephyrhills in 2018. Restored and painted as "348950".

Delivered to the USAAF as 44-76588 in 1945. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB in 1968. Sold as N88916 in 1973. Reregistered as N67PA in 1974 and N131FS in 1988. To Flabob in 2015 and preserved in USAF markings.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-100662 in 1943. Stored at Davis Monthan AFB in 1967. Trucked to Basler Turbo Conversions at Oshkosh, WI in 1994 and registered as N40359. Rebuilt as BT67 #36 for the Colombia Air Force as 1670 in 2000. It was damaged in an accident and rebuilt as BT67 # 41 in 2002. There is a mystery as to the identity of the original 1670 and what happened to it. The conversion of 1670 to a BT67 probably used parts from both aircraft and took on the identity of this one.

Delivered to the USAAF as C-47A 42-23668 in 1943. Registered as N7252N in 1971. Converted to a C-47D in 1973. Preserved at Beale AFB as 42-23668 from 1984. To N60480 in 1998 and moved to the Yanks Air Museum, Chino, CA by 2001.

Arkia's DC-3/C-47's helped keeping Israel's southernmost city - Eilat - connected to the rest of the country in the late 1950's / early 1960's. However, the airframe shown here never carried the registration 4X-AES, which did exist though but had c/n 11923 (USAAF FY 42-92154 > RAF FL562 > HB-ATO > NC74136 > OO-AFB > to Israel DF) and then to Arkia between April 2, 1957 and June 26, 1966. "4X-AES" has since been moved a few miles north to the new Eilat Airport LLER.

Hopefully the pilot remembered the dog tied up by the tail wheel before taking off! Here just imported for Ontario Central Airlines and wrecked on 5 May 1996 while with Aviation Boreal when the gear collapsed landing on the ice of Kenty Lake/QC.
