While in Canada as CF-RAF / C-FRAF, this two seat Spitfire was converted to single seat configuration by covering the aft cockpit. Acquired by the Owls Head Transport Museum in 1975, it was registered N92477. Registered N308WK with a new owner in 1979, it was restored to a 2 seater. Exported to the UK in 2019, it was overhauled and registered G-AWGB before flying again in 2020.

To see this T9C flying was a wonderful bonus during my visit to EGBP.

TE308 colour scheme RAAF 'Grey Nurse' Squadron, with Sharkmouth adorned on all Spitfires in the Squadron.

When SOC from the RAF, this Spitfire was returned to Vickers Supermarine, converted to a two seat type 509 and delivered to the Irish Air Corps. Sold in 1968 to be used in the film "Battle of Britain" before coming to Canada in 1970. The owner later converted it to a single seater by fairing over the rear cockpit. Sold to the USA in 1975 and later re-converted back to a two seater.

The aircraft took part in the flying display at the 'Wings over Houston' airshow.
