When SOC from the RAF, this Spitfire was returned to Vickers Supermarine, converted to a two seat type 509 and delivered to the Irish Air Corps. Sold in 1968 to be used in the film "Battle of Britain" before coming to Canada in 1970. The owner later converted it to a single seater by fairing over the rear cockpit.
