"Cotam (CTM) 1011" on the roll for Honolulu this morning after arriving from Istres-Le Tubé Air Base on a tech stop. Riots have erupted in the French territory of New Caledonia so presumably this had army troops onboard heading down there. We had the regular A330 come in the other day so this one was a nice surprise.

This is the pod section of this Venom (originally Swiss as J-1539) , which was registered for a time as G-DHUU. The wings and tail sections were elsewhere on the premises. perhaps awaiting reassembly. RAF-style markings and a false serial, WR410, were carried on the booms.

The early Constellations were often volume-restricted rather than weight-restricted. The Speedpak cargo pannier was developed at the request of Eastern Air Lines. It reduced speed by 10 mph and range by 4%. It was electrically lowered for unloading or for removal as it was typically used on shorter flights - note that the unit wears an individual number, 14, and does not belong to the airframe. May 2012 stored at Stuttgart Municipal Airport, USA, and in September same year broken up there after 23 years of flying.

Antarctic mission markings displayed by penguins on this old workhorse, S-55 0371 which could be found in storage with the naval aviation museum.
