Derived from the Hurricane, the Henley was intended as a light bomber but only ordered as a target tug, fitted with a winch on the left side of the rear cockpit. 200 Henley Mk.IIIs were built by Gloster between November 1938 and September 1940, but were found to be prone to Merlin engine failures. Apparently the cooling system was not up to target towing at high engine speed but relatively low airspeed. L3261 crashed on approach to RAF Catfoss, Yorkshire, on 18 July 1939.

Small powerful racer designed by Frank Barnwell and built to promote Bristol's Jupiter engine. The sole example is seen here fitted with its initial 510-hp Jupiter VI with cylinder head helmet fairings. It dropped out of the 1926 King's Cup race with fuel feed problems. Rebuilt for the next edition of that event as the Bristol 99A, it crashed on 26 July 1927 when its new turbocharged Jupiter VI failed just after take-off from Filton. The pilot, Capt Frank Barnard, lost his life.

The Portsmouth Aerocar was a twin-boom utility aircraft seating five or six people and first flown from Portsmouth on 18 June 1947. Although considered promising, it was overweight and financing could only be found in India which caused problems as India gained independence that summer. Only this prototype, powered by Cirrus Major engines, was completed.

The Wyvern saw limited operational service with the Royal Navy, the Armstrong Siddeley Python turboprop engine proving troublesome.
