9th SRW visiting from Beale Air Force Base CA. The KC-135Q is a KC-135A modified to carry JP-7 fuel necessary for the SR-71 Blackbird. A single aircraft SR-71 detachment often being deployed to Mildenhall during the 80's. Later converted to a KC-135T and last noted in Oct 2021 with the 171st ARS, MI ANG.

437th MAW visiting from Charleston Air Force Base SC. Retired to AMARC on 02 Apr 2002. Left for scrapping on 03 Oct 2005.

62nd MAW visiting from McChord Air Force Base WA. In the then new lizard camouflage scheme. Retired to AMARC on 19 Dec 1997. Broken up on 22 Aug 2023.

Delivered to the Royal Navy on 02 Nov 1965 as an S2A. Converted to a S2B and transferred to the RAF on 05 Oct 1978. Scrapped at Lossiemouth in Apr 1993 with the forward section being preserved.

This is the escape pod of F-111E 68-0060 / UH from the 20th TFW based at RAF Upper Heyford. On 05 Nov 1975 during a low level run over the Wainfleet range a bird penetrated the windshield causing a catastrophic failure to the windshield and canopy. The crew ejected the pod and survived. The capsule with the crew inside was picked up by a helicopter from the 67th ARRS and flown to RAF Woodbridge.

'The Loch Doon Spitfire.' Built at Castle Bromwich. To the RAF on 20 Oct 1940. Issued to 66 Sqn at West Malling on 29 Oct 1940. To 609 (West Riding) Sqn on 24 Feb 1941 at Biggin Hill. To 266 Sqn at Wittering on 14 Jun 1941. Finally to 312 (Czech) Sqn at Martlesham Heath on 6 Jul 1941. The Sqn moved to Ayr on 19 Aug 1941. On 25 Oct 1941 the aircraft crashed into Loch Doon whilst low flying, a wing clipped the water and the pilot was killed. The plane was brought up from the loch in 1982 and has been gradually restored over the years and went on display in 2017 in its 312 (Czech) Sqn markings.

Delivered to the RAF on 10 Mar 1955. To Halton for ground instruction on 02 Jul 1976 as 8491M. Scrapped in 1990 with the nose saved and coming to the museum in the early 90's.

Preserved in the markings of EC-8.

JBG-31 visiting from Norvenich in West Germany in the then new WGAF lizard camouflage. Cottesmore in those days was a good place to see WGAF and WGN aircraft as the various wings converted to the Tornado. This aircraft has now been scrapped.

Delivered to the RAF as XM285 on 30 May 1958. Sold back to Scottish Aviation on 29 Nov 1969 and registered G-AYFA on 15 Jun 1870 with Flight One. Cancelled on 16 May 1991 with the remains going to a scrap dealer in 1992. The nose was preserved and arrived at the museum in 2013.

Noted in a dismantled state. Built in the UK in 1971 and registered G-AZIL on 16 Nov 1971. Cancelled on 03 Mar 2022. To the Museum in Feb 2019.

Built in 1971 and registered new to BEA as G-AWZJ on 14 Jan 1969. Transferred to British Airways on 01 Apr 1974. This aircraft operated the last commercial Trident flight on 09 Dec 1985 when it flew from Zurich to Heathrow. Its last flight was on 28 Feb 1986 to Prestwick as a non-destructive trainer for the fire service. Registration cancelled on 07 Mar 1986. Acquired by the museum in 1999.

Preserved in 111 Squadron markings. This aircraft never served with the RAF. Delivered new to the Royal Saudi Air Force as 53-682 on 01 Jul 1968. Later reserialled to 307 then 201. Returned to BAe at Warton on 22 Jan 1986. Displayed at Ferranti in Edinburgh 03 Jun 1990 then to the museum on 22 May 2006.

36 Stormo - 12 Gruppo based at Gioia del Colle in Italy. On a squadron exchange with either 56 or 74 Squadron. Later upgraded to a F-104S-ASA. Preserved on a pole in Piacenza with fake markings as MM6783. Last noted on 28 Mar 2023.

Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment (TTTE) based at Cottesmore comprising aircraft from the UK, West Germany and Italy. TTTE Tornado's were easy to tell from other mud moving Tornados as they did not carry drop tanks. This aircraft is in the old WGAF green and grey camouflage scheme. Most German Tornados were first painted into lizard camouflage. Last noted in 2011 when it went into storage. Probably scrapped.

This example was built in Holland by Fokker and is the rarer RF-104G variant. Operated by JBG33 visiting TTTE from Buchel in West Germany. The unit was probably in the process of converting to the Tornado. Later transferred to Turkey with serial 8140.

WFU over the back of the airfield. First flight 07 Apr 1960. Operated by Wattisham TFF in the 70's. SOC 28 May 1974. Used for ground instruction or as a decoy with serial 8412M. To PEE Pendine Sands Range 23 Jan 1986 as a target. Believed to have been scrapped in 1994.

Leased to US Express in Feb 1988. To Air Safaris and Services in New Zealand as ZK-NMH in Dec 1994. Sold to Denmark on 30Jan 2003 as OY-NMH and operated by Q-Parachute Center. Seen stored at Kuala Lumpur Sabang on 15 Jan 2015.
