Originally built in Sutton Coldfield by R C Streather and flown pre-war at Walsall. New fuselage constructed by Bob Ogden to replace the original which had been converted into a motor-cycle side-car! Sold to G Riley (yes me!) and re-painted blue. Sold mid-1970s to Roger Windley of Tattershall Thorpe. Found its way to Don Campbell's collection at Brodhead, Wisconsin, where I saw it in 2012. Believed to have been sold by Don to the Lane Motor Museum but that is not confirmed.

"Pennzoil Special" Art Scholl purchased this DHC-1 Chipmunk in 1968. He modified it to a single-seat configuration with a shorter wingspan and larger vertical fin and rudder, and made other changes to improve its performance. Scholl was a three-time member of the U.S. Aerobatic Team, an air racer, and a movie and television stunt pilot. At air shows, he often flew with his dog "Aileron" on his shoulder or taxied with him standing on the wing. Now in the Smithsonian, Washington DC.

Scholl was a three-time member of the U.S. Aerobatic Team, an air racer, and a movie and television stunt pilot. At air shows, he often flew with his dog "Aileron" on his shoulder or taxied with him standing on the wing. Now in the Smithsonian, Washington DC.
