Delivered new 28th Dec 1965 and withdrawn from use KSHN (Shelton) March 1992. Sale to FedEx as N164FE not taken up and scrapped Apr 1994

Used as a Boeing demonstrator on a world tour. Was also a systems test airframe. In basic UAL colours but never operated by them. Re-reg as N68650, for various operators. Sadly, destroyed in mid-air collision with Cessna 310, N3121S, near Hendersonville NC 19 Jul 1967. The second N7003U (c/n 18791) was first registered in 1965. Photo most probably taken on 22 Oct1963 when the 727 visited AMS for the first time. KLM selected the smaller Douglas DC-9, which did not fly until 1965. The only Dutch airline ever to operate the 727 was Air Holland in the 1980s, but Lufthansa, Olympic, Air France, Iberia and Alitalia 727s visited AMS very frequently. Delivered new 7th Oct 1964 and sold to FedEx 18th Apr 1990 and flown to KDHN (Dothan) for storage, then flown to KGWO (Greenwood) 14th Aug 1991 where it was scrapped May 1994.

Delivered new 24th Sep 1964 and sold to FedEx Aug 1990 for freighter conversion with registration N157FE reserved. The aircraft never entered service and was retired at KSHN (Shelton) 14th Apr 1992 and scrapped

Ex United Airlines, transferred to Air Atlanta Dec 1983 and operated till Aug 1987 when it went to Alaska Airlines for three months. Became N150FE with FedEx Jan 1988

The sea fog is dissipating as this 727 arrives from the USA. Delivered to United Airlines January 27, 1965 and except for the summer of 1980 leased to Alaska Airlines, would fly continuously for United until sold to Federal Express in December 1990. Stored at Dothan, AL, the aircraft was later moved to Greenwood, MS and scrapped there in 1994.

Delivered new to United Airlines 18th May 1966 and traded in to Boeing 1st May 1981. Leased to Air Atlanta 27th Jan 1984 and returned to lessor May 1987. Registered to FedEx 10th July 1987 and re-registered N147FE Jan 1988
