Pictured during a squadron exchange with the F-15C/Ds of the Soesterberg based 32nd TFS. This Tornado F3 was first flown on 30 June 1988, and delivered to the RAF on 15 August 1988. It served since 23/F sqn, 229 OCU, 56 Sqn, 1435 Flight, 111 Sqn, 43 Sqn. The swing-winger was withdrawn from use in July 2009. It made its very last flight on 10 August 2009, from Leuchars to Leeming. At the latter it was stripped and eventually scrapped by March 2015.

A Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) F-15C, armed with Sparrows and Sidewinders, on the runway of its homebase Soesterberg after returning from an earlier Scramble. The Eagle was delivered to the USAF on 14 November 1980 and assigned to the Wolfhounds of the 32nd TFS. It returned CONUS on 21 July 1992 and was assigned to the 325th FW at Eglin AFB (FL). The aircraft was withdrawn from use and became in 2011 a GF-15C Ground Instructional Airframe at Sheppard AFB (TX).

What a fine looking C295. 1182 was first reported at its birthing grounds at Sevilla (Spain) when in primer at the production line in September 2014. Three months later, it was seen in full colors, flags, roundels serial and registration. It was possibly delivered as EC-006 to the Egypt Air Force's 533 Air Wing (2 and 8 Squadron) at Cairo in January 2015. Here it is seen as a very nice visitor for Ostend, probably in support of a state visit of Egypt's president to Belgium.

First flown as PH-FBT on 26 Aug'60, delivered to 334sq of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu, Royal Netherlands Air Force) on 30 Sep'60. The small transporter operated from homebase Soesterberg up to 31 Jul'96, when it was withdrawn from service and stored at Woensdrecht air base (the Netherlands). The F27 was sold on 18 Dec'97 to Valitrade. It became ZS-OEI with Luft Afrique in Feb'98 and became 5Y-BRN with Air Express in Nov'03. Later it flew with that registration with Safe Air from 2009. Safe Air was not so safe as the F27 crashed in poor visibility weather at Bossaso (Somalia) on 4 Mar'10.

Returning to its HAS via the once great aviation photography spot at Soesterberg. 0029 was delivered to the USAF on 13 August 1980 and was immediately assigned to the Wolfhouds at Soesterberg. Near twelve years later, on 23 June 1992, the aircraft returned to CONUS and was assigned to 95th FS / 325th FW ('TY') at Tyndall AFB (FL). The Eagle was retired and stored at AMARG with inventory code AAFH0284 on 30 July 2010.

This time the pilot decided not to do that on a traditional way by waving with the huge air brake on top of the fuselage, but by pumping up its nosewheel strut! 0030 was delivered to the USAF on 14 November 1980 and was immediately assigned to the Wolfhouds at Soesterberg. Near twelve years later, on 23 June 1992, the aircraft returned to CONUS and was assigned to 95th FS / 325th FW ('TY') at Tyndall AFB (FL). The Eagle was retired and stored at AMARG with inventory code AAFH0243 on 16 April 2010.

Delivered to the USAF on 9 Dec'81 and assigned to the 22nd TFS/36th TFW (BT) at Bitburg AB (Germany). It then swapped between the 36th and the 32nd TFS (CR) at Soesterberg several times between Nov'88 and late '93. Moved to CONUS and assigned to the 59th FS/33rd FW (EG) from Dec'93. Then served the 65th AGRS at Nellis between early'06 and early'09. It was transferred to the 186th FS of the Montana ANG in Summer'11. The moved to the 194th FS or the Oregon ANG, last-noted in 2021. Current status? In the background ABDR F-105F 62-4417 (ex Georgia ANG) and on the runway F-15C 81-0027/CR.

Del to the 27th TFS (FF) 9 Sep'82. It arrived with the 32nd on 29 Aug'89. Dep for CONUS 29 May'92. Assigned to the 95th FS (TY). During an air combat training flight the pilots air-regulating valve detached from its torso harness and became lodged in the ejection seat handle. When the pilot turned his head to check his position and pulled the control stick towards him, enough tension was put on the detached valve to raise the ejection seat handle, causing him to eject safely 21 May'04. 0027 is seen here returning to its HAS while 2 Dutch F-16s awaiting approval for for take-off from rnwy 28.

Delivered to the USAF in 1980 and first assigned to the Wolfhouds at Soesterberg AB (the Netherlands) from 30 July 1980. The Eagle never left the sole royal Tactical Fighter Sqruadron of the USAF. The Eagle was sold to Saudi Arabia as 4207 and left Dutch soil on 24 September 1990. Within the Royal Saudi Air Force is was assigned to 42sq, the serial later changed to 609 when it was assigned to 6sq and then to 209 with 2sq.

This RF-4C flew from Zweibrucken AB (Germany) before it returned to CONUS and was assigned to this 45th TRTS / 67th TRW at Bergstrom. Strickingly, following service with the 67th TRW, the recce Spook returned to Europe, this time for aircraft battle damage repair training at Birburg AB (Germany). It arrived at Bitburg on 1 December 1989 and stayed there at least up to April 1996. Then it was fully scrapped.

Parked at the massive Bergstrom platform, this RF-4C flew earlier with the 62nd TRS / 363rd TFW (JO) and with the 91st TRS / 67th TRW (BA). The aircraft was withdrawn and stored at AMARC with inventory code FP737 on 21 August 1991. It was selected for the QRF-4C program and moved to BAE Systems, Mojave (CA) for conversion on 23 September 2010. It was then assigned to the 82nd ATRS at Eglin AFB (FL) and received drone code AF-387. It was shot down as an aerial target on 31 October 2012.

Moved to AMARC on 7 August 1992, received inventory code FP0883 and was moved on 7 May 2010. It was selected for the QRF-4C program and moved to BAE Systems, Mojave (CA) for conversion on 7 May 2010. It was then assigned to the 82nd ATRS at Eglin AFB (FL) and received drone code AF-382. It was shot down as an aerial target on 6 November 2012.

Former 18th TRS (JO) was moved to the 91st TRS at Bergstrom as pictured. It was then transferred to the 190th TRS at Boise before it was retired to AMARC with inventory code FP0699 on 13 June 1991. The aircraft was selected for the QRF-4C program and moved to To BAE Systems, Mojave (CA). It received 82nd ATRS code AF-367 and was expended on 6 November 2012 of the Gulf of Mexico.

Parked in a terrible grey winter weather at the platform of Schiphol. This C-130E, former USAF (serial 63-843) 438th Military Airlift Wing and 516th Tactical Airlift Wing, was delivered to the IDF/AF in Oct'73. It received serial 312 (with connected registration 4X-FBJ). It became serial 305 in the late 1980s. 305 was assigned to the Israeli Tactical Transport Division. That division commands the 103 Tayeset "The Elephants Squadron" and the 131 Tayeset "The Knights of the Yellow Bird Squadron". Both squadrons pick their a/c from a poule. 305 was last reported ops in 2008. Most likely retired.

FMS serial 63-7774 was delivered to the Israeli Defense Force/Air Force (IDF/AF) as serial 301 (connected to registration 4X-FBF) on 14 Oct'73. At least up to Jul'87, the Herc was known like that, first confirmed with new serial 314 (with registration 4X-FBI) in mid-1990. 314 was then assigned to the Israeli Tactical Transport Division. That division commands the 103 Tayeset "The Elephants Squadron" and the 131 Tayeset "The Knights of the Yellow Bird Squadron". Both squadrons pick their aircraft from a poule. 314 was last reported ops in 2012. Most likely withdrawn from use soon after 2012.

Built as a PD808TA and in service with the Aeronautica Militare Italiana (AMI, Italian Air Force) since 6 November 1970. First assigned to RVSM (Reparto Volo Stato Maggiore), and from 1975 as SM-53 with 302°Gruppo/RVSM. Became 31-53 306°Gruppo TS/31°Stormo from June 1978 and flew like that up to May 1985. The Piaggio crashed during an emergency landing on Venezia-Tessera on 15 September 1993, all three crewmembers were killed. The wreck of the aircraft was noted at Treviso-Sant'Angelo from late 1998 to mid-2005.

A MBB built Tornado that made its first flight on 22 May'87. The aircraft was delivered to the Marineflieger (German Naval Aviation) with MFG2 on 29 Jul'87. It served the unit up to Oct'05 when it was transferred to the Luftwaffe with AG51. It was first noted with JBG33 in early 2008. Soon after it was deployed to Holloman AFB (NM) to serve the German traning unit German Air Force Tactical Traning Command (GAFFTC). It returned to JBG33 in mid-'12. Up to the date of the photo, the Tornado never left that squadron (redesignated to TLG33) anymore. It was deployed to the Middle East in 2019/2020.

A Luftwaffe Tornado which was built by MBB built in batch 4. It made its first flight on 30 Mar'84 and was delivered to the Luftwaffe JBG31 in Jun'84. In Jun'95 it was transferred to JBG38. The, a year later to AG51 up to Aug'10. In 2013 it flew with the GAFFTC from Holloman AFB (NM) and from 2016 with TLG33. The Tornado, here returning from a Steadfast Noon mission to Volkel. The exercise is an annual 2-week training exercise for member countries in handling nuclear weapons. The crew of this Tornado sees the first signs of the Indian Summer in the Netherlands. The Tor was built by Alenia Aeronautica at Torino (Italy), it flew first on 3 Jun'83 and was delivered as 6-25 to 154°Gruppo. It later flew as 6-24 and 6-41. It was damaged during a landing accident causing it to exit the runway at Decimomannu on 27 November 1995. Initially declared expensive to repair (R3), it was repaired, painted grey and became ops again in early 2000. MM7024 was spotted as 6-41 up to Sep'02, and then became 36-41 up to late Oct'06. Converted to MLU RET 8. It returned to 6 Stormo with code 6-50 up to late 2025.

Wolf is a Cameri FACO built Lightning II (FMS serial 22-5760) was delivered to the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu, Royal Netherlands Air Force) on 23 November 2024. Although still unmarked, it flies with the Tiger Squadron since that moment.
