This aircraft was built as a J-5G Cirrus Autocar and registered new in Australia as VH-API on 11 March 1955. A couple of years later, on 15 August 1957, it was re-registered VH-KEV(2). It has recently undergone a restoration with a Gipsy Major fitted, becoming a J-5B Autocar.

This Tiger Moth has an interesting history: built in Australia for a Netherlands East Indies order and civil registered PK-VVT. Shipped out of the NEI and loaned to the RAAF in 1942. Allocated RAAF serial A17-624 and taken on charge 7 March 1942 at 1 EFTS, Parafield. Sold post-war, becoming VH-AMH(2) on 26 July 1951.
