This 1942-build Hurricane is pictured about to touch down on rw27 after taking part in the Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary commemorative flypast at RIAT 2010.

Delivered to the RCAF in 1942 (5377), this Hurricane was struck off strength in 1946. Stored on a Portage la Prairie, Manitoba farm, the aircraft was rebuilt by Bob Diemert from 1964 - 1968. After participating in the movie "Battle of Britain", the fighter remained in the UK and was part of the Strathallan Collection from 1969-1984. Acquired by the Canadian Warplane Heritage, it was airlifted by Canadian Air Force C-130 Hercules in May 1984 to be a prominent part of their collection. Unfortunately the Hurricane was lost with four other aircraft on February 15, 1993 when a hangar caught fire.

This shot is from the RAF Cosford Air Show in 2015. The weather was truly awful so, yes, probably I shouldn't have bothered ...but when two members of the Red Arrows join the BBMF for a wonderful commemorative flypast 75 years after the Battle of Britain, it was impossible to resist..

This SE Asia BBMF Hurricane is pictured landing after it's display as part of the RAF Cosford Air Show 2015.

Built by Canadian Car & Foundry as a Mk IIb for the RCAF in 1942, struck off in 1944. Recovered as a wreck in 1984, shipped to the UK for restoration and registered G-ORGI. Flew again in 1991. Sold to the USA in 1991, becoming N678DP. Sold back to Canada and registered C-FDNL in 2005. Shipped to Australia in 2014 and restored again, registered VH-JFW(3) on 3 September 2015. First flight in Australia on 2 October 2016. Painted to represent the aircraft of AustralianPilot Officer John Dallas Crossman, who flew with 32 & 46 Squadrons and was killed on 30 September 1940.

As always the Sea Hurricane was flown sharply across Old Warden airfield during the anual summer air show.

The Real Aeroplane Company airfield at Breighton is a strange little airfield, very friendly and full of classic aircraft as befitting the name of the company. This aircraft does not carry any external serial number except for the code of LK-A. Destroyed at Shoreham on 15th September 2007

This Hurricane was delivered to 257 Sqdn on 9th August 1940. At 0825 on 31st August PO Gerard Maffet took off in P3175 from Martlesham Heath to intercept a formation of Bf-110 and Ju-88. P3175 was hit forcing PO Maffet to bale out at low altitude and, tragically, his parachute did not open in time. In 1973 the remains of P3175 were recovered, cleaned and donated to the RAF Museum and serve as a very poignant reminder of the sacrifice made by 'the few'..

This aircraft was built by Gloster Aircraft during 1939. It first flew on about 20th October 1939. By May 1940, it was operational with 245 Fighter Squadron, based at Drem on the East Coast of Scotland, engaged on shipping protection patrols. It was crash landed on a beach in Dunkirk in 1940 after engaging two Messerschmitt 109s. It remained there until recovered by French enthusiasts in 1988. It was obtained some time later and, beautifully restored flew again on 19th June 2017

This Hurricane was built at Langley, close to what is now Heathrow Airport, early in 1944 and served as a training aircraft for the remainder of WWII in the RAF 41 OTU. It is now on display at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center.

This Hurribomber is pictured lifting off rw27 to take part in the Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary commemorative flypast at RIAT 2010. This aircraft served during WWII in Canada but is repainted to represent a 174 Squadron aircraft flown by Flight Sgt Charles Bryce Watson. On 19th August 1942 the real BE505 was shot down over Dieppe but, fortunately, the pilot survived to become a POW.
