I messed up the F stop on this one with all that concrete glare! I blame the midday heat! It was delivered to Sterling 28 February 1972 and when retired it went to France as F-GCVL 15 July 1991 and put on display outside at Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, Le Bourget, Paris.

Classic 1970s Orly with Air Paris DH Heron F-BRSK on the right and Turkish Air Force C-130E Hercules 13188 landing in the far background. Delivered to Tunis Air 16 February 1968 and subsequently withdrawn from use and scrapped. I can still remember the distinctive airport tannoy announcement tune and the strange aroma inside the terminal!

Ex United Air Lines N1015U. A poor quality image as it was nearly dark when I took it and work commitments stopped me from returning the following morning. I haven't seen another image of it in this delivery livery. To Republic of Chad Government in February 1976 as TT-AAD and TT-AAM in April 1976. Subsequently withdrawn from use.

To Aerosucre Colombia HK-2850X in August 1982. Written off after overrunning the runway following an aborted takeoff at Arauca, Colombia 27 November 1986.

Delivered to Trans Europa in March 1970. To HB-ICI in December 1980 and then to TC-ALA, HK-3837X. Withdrawn from use at Bogota in May 2001 and scrapped in October 2001.

Delivered to Iberia 9 July 1963. Crashed into high ground at San Jose, near Ibiza, Spain 7 January 1972.

Built at Woolston in March 1940 as P9374. Forced landed at Calais 24 May 1940 and sunk into beach sands. Re-emerged in September 1980 and recovered in January 1981. UK registered in 2000. Fuselage under rebuild by Airframe Assemblies Ltd in a yellow jig frame for accurate assembly. The lower panel in the foreground was the only original skin suitable for re-fitment due to extensive salt water corrosion of the remainder. The workmanship at this facility is superb and the historic accuracy is very important to the dedicated team. Each fuselage can take several years to complete. To N92SQ in 2017

Built at Castle Bromwich in April 1943. Rescued from a scrap yard in South Africa in 1978 and shipped to the UK in 1989. Fuselage under rebuild by Airframe Assemblies Ltd. It has now been removed from the yellow jig frame for final panel fitting prior to shipment to the owner for complete assembly. The workmanship at this facility is superb and the historic accuracy is very important to the dedicated team. Each fuselage can take several years to complete. Registered in 2013 as G-CGZU with RAF code EF-F.

UK registered 8 June 1981. Permit to fly expired 17 October 1987. Arrived here from Old Sarum 17 November 1990. Registration cancelled 3 February 1995. Transferred to Wainfleet, near Skegness, Lincolnshire 25 October 2011 as part of a private aerial application aircraft collection. Fuselage was also present, see here. Current status unknown to me.

This really was bad timing! Ex USAAF 42-65408. Sister HP-379 (13920) suffered the same fate at Turin after the demise of the operator. Third Sister HP-385 (13915) crashed in 1963. All three were named 'Heracles' and were operated by Aeronaves de Panama.

Stored. Later robbed of parts and scrapped.
