This was the fourth AV-8A built for the USMC by Hawker Siddeley. It was later converted to an AV-8C. After serving in the USMC from March 1971 to January 1986 it was transferred to NASA as N719NA. There it was used for boundary layer control and V/STOL research, and was retired in February 1995. It is currently on display at the Fort Worth, Texas Aviation Museum.

This really was bad timing! Ex USAAF 42-65408. Sister HP-379 (13920) suffered the same fate at Turin after the demise of the operator. Third Sister HP-385 (13915) crashed in 1963. All three were named 'Heracles' and were operated by Aeronaves de Panama.
