Offloading passenger on the platform at Eelde. This Herald unfortunately didn't end its life well, as it taxied into a lamp post at Bournemouth in April 1997. With the wing damage too expensive to repair, the aircraft was written off. The cockpit section was preserved and resides at the Highland Aviation Museum in Inverness.

Manufactured early 1926 and ordered by the Air Ministry. Eventually scrapped again in 1935. The aircraft in the background is H-NADD, a Koolhoven FK.33, which served the KLM from October 8, 1925 until August 20, 1927, when it was sold to Germany. Many thanks to S. Biemans for the information!

Later preserved as gate guard at Eindhoven Air Base, painted in demo markings as "C-8".

First registered on April 7, 1986. Cancelled March 25, 2005. Became G-JXTC and later serving as an instructional frame at the university of Glamorgan (Wales). With G-AOYG in the background.

Manufactured in 1954 and suffered quite a lot of incidents before being sold to Air America Inc. (not the one that was active in Vietnam). In 1983 it was impounded after it was "leased to people who got in trouble with Federal Drug Authorities". Apparently the Pembroke was an ideal "doper" and sold to the runners for $50.000 each. It could carry a dozen bales of marajuana and the big doors enabled a quick drop on a runway and even the belly doors were used for air drops. After its military life, the aircraft was reregistered N51973. It was seen in 2007 at Essex County Airport in Caldwell, NJ, still there by late 2011.

Built in 1972 as F-WTNF and carried the registration 5N-AKA before going to Schreiner Airways as PH-SCD. It was cancelled on February 1, 1977 and later scrapped.

Later became N140WF and N222EF.

Celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the Rijksluchtvaartschool. 30.000 people came to see this event, which hosted many different aircraft. amongst the aircraft in the photo are the fleet of the RLS (Rijksluchtvaartschool) with their Citations, Bonanzas and in the background a Hansajet taxiing on runway 19. On static display you can see the Delft Technical University DHC-2 Beaver PH-VTH, a Thrush sprayplane, The Fokker Four formation planes, Cessna aircraft, F-27, DC-3 and all the way in the back there is a Dutch Navy Orion.

Former HB-GCF and transferred to Flying Syndicate Twente on November 7, 1968. After October 30, 1972 it went to France to live its life as F-BTOK and F-GGAM.

Because of the 50th anniversary of the London-Melbourne race, in which the Uiver won the handicap-classe, this DC-2 (owned by Colgate W. Darden) was brought to the Netherlands to fly the route once more. They toured a couple of Dutch airports (Eelde being one of them) before heading off to the UK for the start of the journey. A nice crowd looks on as the DC-2 is marshalled into position.

This photo gives me a very nostalgic feeling, especially with the rear stairs open. In front of the Caravelle, the boarding process has just started for the NLM Fokker 27 that is parked there.

This aircraft was hit by lighting on the way to Eelde. The nose cone was actually found in someone's back yard. They ferried it to Schiphol without the nose cone attached.

Delivered on August 29, 1963, scrapped on August 18, 1975. Also visible in this photo are US Army deHavilland Canada U-1A Otter 55-3314 (c/n 177) and G-AOHE, a Westland-Sikorsky WS-55 Whirlwind Srs.1 of Bristow Helicopters, which was based at the airport for a short while.
