Because of the 50th anniversary of the London-Melbourne race, in which the Uiver won the handicap-classe, this DC-2 (owned by Colgate W. Darden) was brought to the Netherlands to fly the route once more. They toured a couple of Dutch airports (Eelde being one of them) before heading off to the UK for the start of the journey. A nice crowd looks on as the DC-2 is marshalled into position. This photo was added on 6 March 2020, and has since been viewed 428 times. |
