One of five Kingcobras acquired by Honduras in 1948/49. Four returned to a collector in the US in 1960 but this one remained to be displayed outside the officers club at Base Aérea Coronel Hernán Acosta Mejía, Toncontin. Displayed variously as '401' and '214' the correct serial is in fact 403 ex 43-11732. The aircraft has since been refurbished and now carries correct serial.

On display at RAF Lakenheath's 1989 Open House, in Soviet colours as "53 white". Operated by The Fighter Collection, Duxford. Originally built for the USAAF as 44-4393. Used for air racing in the USA postwar, latterly in overall red colours. Brought to the UK in 1988. Lost in a sadly fatal crash in 1990 after leaving La Ferte-Alais in France to return to Duxford.

Ex N90805, USAAF 42-69021. Spent 3 years in the UK between 1992 and 1995 with Doug Arnold's Warbirds of GB collection.

Destroyed in a tragic midair collision with B-17G N7227C "Texas Raiders" at Dallas Executive Airport on 12 November 2022 during an airshow. The pilot of the P-63 and the five crew of the B-17 were all killed.

Two P-63Fs (out of a total production of 3,303 P-63s of all variants) were ever manufactured, making N6763 one of the most improbable warbirds to survive the war, let alone remain in flying condition. Sadly she was destroyed in a horrible and tragic midair collision with B-17 N7227C at Dallas Executive airport on November 12th, 2022, exactly 6 years after I took this picture.

Army Air Force P-63F 43-11719 was bought surplus after WWII by Harold Pemberton and flown in the 1946 Thompson Trophy Race registered NX1719. Registered N1719, N443 and N447AG over the years, it raced at Reno registered N6763 in the late 70s. The fighter was acquired by the Confederate Air Force (later the Commemorative Air Force) circa 1980. It was the last surviving of two P-63Fs built. Sadly she was destroyed in a midair collision with B-17 N7227C on 12 November 2022.

An early Kingcobra, 42-68941 was kept by Bell aircraft for test and development work. Transferred to the NACA (predecessor of NASA) in 1945, it did some flying out of Moffat Field, CA until sold as surplus circa July 1946. Becoming NX75488, the aircraft did little flying over the years in private hands. Acquired by the Confederate Air Force in late 1975, the fighter was displayed in French Air Force colors. A restoration was begun in 1999 with the aircraft flying again in 2017 as N919H with period NACA markings.
