slide by E. H. Greenman. - Air North acquired all three Fokker 27s from Swift Aire in 1982 and even adopted main parts of the Swift Aire colour scheme. N423SA came to Brockway / Piedmont Commuter in 1984 and was sold to Burma Airways three years later. In July 1999, the Friendship crashed in Myanmar as XY-AEO.

Small Mesaba, who operated as Northwest Airlink under contract, titles on rear fuselage. By October 1997 the aircraft had been flown up to Las Vegas where it was being parted out for spares. It was cancelled from the US Register September 1997, by which time it had flown 53,946 hours and 60,602 cycles! (With thanks to aussieairliners.org for much of the above).

slide from Andreas Dürr. - Friendship c/n 10623 spent its whole service life with Merpati Nusantara Airlines in Indonesia. It was delivered in 1982 (shown here in its delivery colours) and was retired at Surabaya in 2006, where it was broken up three years later.

Late '99, the KLu decided to retire the two F27-200MARs of 336sq which were based at Hato, Curaçao. Here M-2 is seen after its return from Hato, awaiting further plans. Eventually, it was decided to dispose them. M-2 was flown to Southend (UK) on 27 Aug'02, cannibalized and sadly scrapped. On the tail, the 336sq badge (a frigate bird) is seen, on the nose the badge of CZMCARIB (Dutch Commandement der Zeemacht in het Caribisch Gebied-Naval Sea Command Carribbean). 336sq was deactivated in 2000 and reactivated in 2004 with C-130Hs (the badge then became a Bull). Delivered to Philips as PH-LIP in 1962. To WDL as D-BAKA in 1975. Leased to various operators. Withdrawn from use at Essen in 1997 and scrapped in 1999.

This aircraft written off after suffering damage beyond economical repair at Guernsey Airport on 7th December 1997 when, according to the accident summary, " ....it overran the end of the runway and entered the grass to the left of the extended center-line at a speed estimated by the crew to be 60 kt. It then impacted and crossed a narrow earth bank before stopping in an adjacent field.". It was broken up for scrap in February 1998.
