This former Northwest Airlines 707 built in 1966 was bought by JAT Airways April 1974. It would go onto fly in the USA again and Africa until withdrawn after a long career and stored at N'djili Airport in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo

This aircraft went on to become 8P-CAC, N707DY and finally ST-APY. It was destroyed when it crashed into Lake Victoria at Mwanza, Tanzania on 3rd February, 2000.

During a cargo flight from Dar es Salaam to Brussels on 13.12.88, made two attempted approaches at Cairo where a stop was scheduled; due to bad weather, diverted to Luxor but apparently ran out of fuel 45 kms short and crashed into a residential area

LAN Chile passed this 707, ex Northwest N374US, to the Air Force as FAC 902 in 11.82. Ended up wfu and used for spares in grey c/s

Northwest were the first operator of this 707 (N385US) from 1968. She was donated to Bangladesh by Japan on 29.9.78 and is seen here in the new colours midway through her career with BG. Ultimately to Brasair/BETA Cargo as PP-BRI in May 94 and stored 1996
