The BAe 146STA (Sideloading Tactical Airlifter) was intended as a military transport based on the 146QT cargo aircraft, with the same left rear cargo door. This demonstrator, fitted with a dummy refuelling probe and an air-openable paratroop door, was the second 146 to be built (G-SSHH). Despite extensive demonstration tours but there were no orders. The aircraft eventually went to National Jet in Australia as VH-NJV

One of 9 Kestrel FGA.1s built as development aircraft between the experimental P.1127s and the production Harriers, first flying in 11.64 as XS694, then being transferred to the US Army for evaluation as 64-18266. Apparently became the second NASA 520 when the first (ex XS694/64-18268) crashed, substantial parts from the latter being used to make it airworthy again for NASA research use at Langley. First flown in 10.43, the push-pull "Arrow" was the fastest production piston fighter of WWII, capable of 472mph at 21,000ft. This sole remaining example of 37 built was taken to the USA for evaluation after the war. Ferried from Oberwiesenfeld to Cherbourg escorted by two P-51s, the Do 335 was easily able to out-pace the escorts and arrived 45 minutes ahead. When returned to Dornier for restoration in 1974, explosive charges to blow off the tail and rear propeller in emergency were found still intact
