Chandrasekhar, MP, it joined the IAF Heritage Flight in 2018 after the Tiger Moth and Harvard. The tail number bears a special significance as VP905 of No. 12 Sqn "Yaks" was the first to land at Srinagar on 27 Oct 47 carrying troops of 1 Sikh to save the town and area from Pakistani raiders, marking the start of the 1947-48 Indo-Pak War.

In 1954 it was transferred to 38 Sqdn at Richmond and after 10 years joined the Aircraft Research and Development Unit at Laverton, moving on to Edinburgh when the ARDU relocated there. In October 1986 it was substantially damaged after a double engine failure on take-off and left gear collapse. Withdrawn for use with 13,897 hours recoded, it was transported to Port Adelaide for preservation in 1992
