Middle Wallop hosted the 2nd FAI World Helicopter Championship in July 1973 culminating with the Army Air Day on 28th July. The display opened with representative aircraft flying past, the lead aircraft carrying their team/country flag. This DOSAAF aircraft, 02 was the second in the flypast from the winning Soviet Union team. Has "TsAK" (Central Aero Club) logo on the engine.

This aircraft was one of the last batch of Lim-5P aircraft built and was delivered in 1959 or 1960 to the Polish air force. It served with the 29th Fighter Regiment until at least October 1964. Between June and November 1972 it was rebuilt as a Lim-6M and assigned to the 40th Fighter Ground-Attack Regiment. By April 1982 it had again been modified to incorporate reconnaissance cameras and designated as a Lim-6MR and assigned back to the renamed 40th Fighter-Bomber Regiment. It was withdrawn from service in July 1987.

A striking coloured dual seat Su-25, designated on the aircraft as Su-28, flown by manufacturer Sukhoi to the international sales show at Le Bourget

On the static of Paris Le Bourget 1989, manufacturer Sukhoi brought this Su-25 to the sales show with the hope for international orders. The type made its first flight in 1975 and currently over 1,000 Su-25s were built and delivered to over twenty air forces. This one is a test and development prototype with the manufacturer's designation T8-15 and the code 15 blue. It was used for the testing of the new R195 engine. However, for the Paris Air Show this was replaced by a standard R95Sh engine because the R195 was still secret, and the code was changed to 301 blue which actually was the Le Bourget exhibit code. In 1990 it was converted to a Su-25BM prototype (Sukhoi designation (T8BM-2).
