Seen landing at Flying Legends

In 1995 this remains of an Anson C19 were left behind a shed at Duxford. It was later passed on to Coventry for spares recovery.

At Flying Legends 2014. Painted in unusual Norway AF / RAF No. 20 Transport Squadron markings, which were only briefly carried in Norway between June 1945 and Feb 1946. This Squadron, unrelated to the RAF's own No.20 Squadron, was in fact a continuation of the German Air Force 20 Transportfliegergeschwader. The squadron, formally controlled by the RAF, was the first step in re-establishing civil aviation in Norway after the war, using several DC-3s and Lockheed L-18 Lodestars. In 1946 the DC-3s were transferred to DNL, Norway's main pre-war airline and one of the predecessors of SAS. Looking spotless and superb

This gorgeous aircraft is pictured taking part in Flying Legends 2011.

XM135 was the 2nd production Lightning and served with the AFDU at RAF Coltishall,Norfolk for three years from 1961. It then joined No. 74 Squadron as part of the Fighter Command Aerobatic Team until 1964 After a period of storage and maintenance it joined the RAF Leuchars Target Facilities Flight and then No. 60 MU 1971. It was acquired by the Imperial War Museum in 1974 and is now on display in AirSpace.

XH648 was originally built as a B1 and delivered to 57 Squadron at Honington in 1959. Shortly afterwards it went to HP at Radlett for conversion to B1A status, which involved fitting ECM equipment and new engines. In 1965 it was converted by HP into a two-point tanker, making it a B(K)1A, and so served in its final years as a fueller until retirement to Duxford in June 1976.

This is one of 47 Strikemasters supplied to RSAF between 1968 and 1977. Whilst on delivery this particular aircraft displayed at the 1977 Paris Air Show on the way to Saudi Arabia. It is now stored, along with a few other gems in the background, in the Restoration Hangar at IWM Duxford.

During the overhaul of the hangar at Duxford the residents were put on display in the open. A welcome opportunity to take pictures of these in daylight.

The light through the roof has given arather pleasing lighting effect to this beautifuuly restored aircraft. The marks are fictitious, this being an ex Spanish Airforce aircraft, E3B-317. It was cancelled in June 2006 as sold in Germany.
