This communications Anson was built at Chadderton and went to Transport Command at Brize Norton in August 1947. After a period of storage, it was finally retired in November 1965, sold to Hawker Siddeley and flown to Halfpenny Green for civil conversion. This didn't happen and the frame sat out in the open deteriorating until finally scrapped. The nose section was saved and is now on display

This MB-339 is actually a composite of two aircraft with the front section originating from '0761'. The frame was shipped to the UK after the Falklands War and went, firstly, on display at the FAAM at Yeovilton but has now migrated, alas, minus the wings to the South Yokrshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure.

XP345 was originally delivered to the RAF as a training aircraft but was substantially damaged during a landing accident in Snowdonia. After repair it served on SAR duties, including a posting to support the UN at Akrotiri in Cyprus, and is credited with having made the last ever flight by a RAF Whirlwind.

On the night of 11th Feb. 1941, 79 Wellingtons. Whitleys and Hampdens set off to bomb Bremen and, of these, only 27 claimed to have reached the target. On the return 22 aircraft were lost when thick fog blanketed their home bases making navigation very difficult. Whitley V P5013 from 51 Sqn. at Dishforth got lost and the crew parachuted to safety, with the aircraft finally coming down near Hatfield, East of Doncaster. This Merlin X Single Stage engine was recovered at the crash site from 18ft of clay in 1987 and is now on display at the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure.

This aircraft was built in February 1939 at Santa Monica and delivered to Eastern as NC21744. it passed through several owners before going to Ford, fitted with a VIP interior (claimed to be the most extravagant DC-3 in the world) and flying in Argentina as LY-GYP before being acquired by the Hibernian Dakota Flight in 1984. The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure then obtained it from the 390th BG Museum at Framlington, Suffolk and plans to restore it as KLM/BOAC DC-3 G-AGBB, which was shot down by a Ju-88 and operated from Doncaster.
