This communications Anson was built at Chadderton and went to Transport Command at Brize Norton in August 1947. After a period of storage, it was finally retired in November 1965, sold to Hawker Siddeley and flown to Halfpenny Green for civil conversion. This didn't happen and the frame sat out in the open deteriorating until finally scrapped. The nose section was saved and is now on display This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
