In the autumn of 1945, this P-39 was found complete (and presumably still crated) on a stray railway wagon near Radom. It was still it its USAAF markings so, presumably, a lend lease airframe that had been transported to the front, but as the war had progressed the plane had become surplus to requirements. The Airacobra was puchased by the Wawelberg & Rotwand Technical School in Warsaw and used for instructional teaching. It then passed to the Mechanical Faculty of the Warsaw University of Technology, however, in all the intervening years the fuselage, the serial and other parts have become lost.

This Z-26 was previously operated by the Aeroklub Krakowski until 1974 and was then donated to this museum. In truth, this plane was easier to photograph in the old hangar before the refurbishment.

This B.II was built in 1917 at Zeesen in Germany and went on to serve with the Imperial German Air Force and is the only surviving airframe of its type. At some point prior to 1936 it became part of Hermann Göring's pre-WWII collection that formed the Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung (German Collections of Aircraft). After several pieces were lost during a bombing attack in 1943, the remainder were crudely cut up, packed onto wagons and tranported east for safekeeping. In 1945 the remnants were discovered in very poor condition near the village of Hammer (now Kuźnica Czarnkowska) by the Polish Army.

The Pirat was a very successful glider design used for advanced training with a total of 813 produced and exported to some 25 countries. This example is the second prototype that was first flown during August 1966. It is obviously of valuable historical importance and so was purchased for the museum in November 2020 from the Polish Airlines Aero Club.

This Fishbed-J was accepted into the Polish AF in April 1974 and went on to fly with various regiments during its service career. One of these was the 10th Fighter Aviation Regiment based at Lask, which it joined in August 1993. In 2000 the plane was painted in this golden scheme to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the regiment's foundation. In January 2003 the plane was retired and stored for three years at Lask before being placed at this wonderful museum.

This Mongol-B was accepted into the Polish AF in May 1981. It went on to fly with the 11th and 3rd Fighter Aviation Regiment and latterly the 3rd Tactical Aviation Squadron when it received this white tiger scheme. The plane was retired in 2003 and sometime afterwards came to this super museum.

The Grigorovich M-15 was a successful Russian WWI reconnaisance biplane flying boat but due to a shortage of engines was only built in small numbers. This example was delivered to the air squadron of the Arensburg fortress on the Baltic Isle of Saarema. It was captured by the Germans during Operation Albion in October 1917 and sent to the German Naval Research Center at Warnemünde for evaluation. It was later part of Göring's pre-WWII private collection in Berlin that was transported to Poland for safekeeping due to the danger of Allied bombing. This M-15 is the only surviving example.

This Vampire was TOC by the Swiss AF in March 1952 and SOC in July 1974. It was initially placed on display at Payerne AFB and then at the Musee Europeen de l'Aviation de Chasse, Montelimar-Ancone before arriving at the Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego in May 2015.

This plane was originally built as a AT-6C, given the cn 88-10516 and TOC with the USAAF as 41-32508. The plane was then remanufactured as a T-6G and assigned a new cn 182-415 and TOC once again with the USAAF, this time as 51-14728. It came to the Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego around 1993 and received these fake markings.

This Hawk II was built in 1933 and transported by liner SS Europa from the USA to Germany. It firstly became D-3164 and then D-IRIK in April 1934. For the next four years it was the personal plane of the famous Ernst Udet, later Generaloberst of Luftwaffe, and flown during the opening ceremony of the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. After 1937 it was displayed in Herman Göring's private collection, the Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung, in Berlin but was damaged during an air raid in November 1943. The collection was evacuated to occupied Poland and in 1963 the remnants became part of this great museum.

This Bf-109 was TOC by the Luftwaffe on 11th May 1944 and delivered to 2./JGr. West, based at Gabbert (now Jaworze, Gmina Wąbrzeźno). Only 15 days later it crashed into a lake near Trzebuń with the loss of the pilot Feldwebel Ernst Pleines. In 1999 the wreck was recovered from the lake and restored over the next two years. In October 2014 the plane was donated to this super museum and is now on display in the refurbished main hangar.

On display in the corner of the newly refurbished main hangar at this super museum. It is nice to see the changes being made over time as this interesting plane is restored. The fact that the instrument panel and other cockpit bits are displayed in a glass case is, I hope, only temporary and that they will be installed in their rightful places in due course. Polish piilots valiantly flew the outclassed CR-714 with great distinction in the Battle of France and, presumably, that is the reason this example is here at all.

This Fishbed-C was TOC with the Polish AF in September 1963 and flew with the 11th, 40th, 4th and 2nd Fighter Aviation Regiments. From 1974 until 1990 it was a ground instructional airframe at COSSTWL (Centralny Ośrodek Szkolenia Specjalistów Technicznych (Central Training Center for Technical Specialists) at Olesnica but in October of that year it was transferred to this superb museum for display.

Having been splendidly restored and in full colours again, this was the most precious gem for me in this impressive museum. The sole surviving MD-12 of three built is the F version, the samolot Fotogrametryczny for photo surveillance. It was modified in many ways from the previous versions and had an endurance of 10 hours, despite some technical shortcomings that remained.

The Albatros C.I began to reach frontline units towards the end of April 1915. It flew in reconnaissance, artillery spotting, bombing and photography roles. This plane belonged to Herman Göring's private collection, the Deutsche Luftfahrtsammlung (German Collections of Aircraft), exhibited near the pre-WWII Berlin railway station. After several pieces were lost during a bombing attack in 1943, the remaining planes were hurridly and crudely dismantled and transported east for safekeeping. After the war the surviving remnants of the collection became became part of this great museum.

This Viggen was TOC by the Flygvapnet in October 1977 and became part of this super museum in December 2005. It is just a pity that money can't be found to build another hangar to get more of these planes shielded from the weather.

This was built in 1937 and taken on charge with the Polish AF with serial 5. It later became SP-AJB and joined this museum in December 1963.

This Iskra is one of three Iskra gate guards at this super musuem. It wears the colours of the Bialo-Czerwone Iskry ("White-and-Red Sparks") aerobatic demonstration team. The team was the last user of the TS-11 Iskra and flew its final display in August 2021 before disbanding.

This Fresco-C was TOC by the Polish AF in April 1958 and came to this museum in October 1990.
