ALITALIA operated this DC-9 with four different registrations - I-DIKJ was the delivery registration in 1968, and after the intermediate US-reg, I-DIBZ and I-DIBP followed until the aircraft was sold to Northwest Airlines as N604NW. It was retired at Opa Locka and scrapped in 2008.

At the end of the lease period, however, the company opted for the Sabreliner 75A and operated up to six of those in the late 70ies and 80ies. - Today, in 2022, this brave Falcon 20 still flies on freight duties with Kalitta Charter - all of its Sabreliner counterparts have been retired many years ago.
