Developed from Supermarine's earlier biplane flying boats, the Stranraer first flew in 1934. Only 17 Stranraers were built for the RAF, but 40 more were built by Canadian Vickers and flown on anti-submarine patrols from Canadian shores during WWII.

The Stranraer was a development of the Southampton flying boats, a colossal seaplane biplane preserved in the livery of the RCAF.

Delivered to the RCAF October 27, 1943 as 11005, this Canso became CF-NJF sometime after being withdrawn and stored in 1959. Photographed when operated by the Province of Saskatchewan for fire fighting, the aircraft is G-PBYA with Plane Sailing at the time of uploading.

The beautiful lines of Miss Pick Up. She's painted as a USAAF OA-10A Catalina search and rescue aircraft.

Originally a Canadian Air Force Canso (ex 11005), delivered in October 1943. It later flew in Canada as CF-NJF / C-FNJF, and in the summers of 1966 and 1968 it was leased to the French Sécurité Civile as F-ZBAY and F-ZBBD respectively. It was acquired by Plane Sailing Catalina Operations in late 2004 and based at Duxford. Seen here still being flown by them 13 years later, in the markings of USAAF OA-10A Catalina 44-33915.

Withdrawn from use in 1987 and acquired by the RAAF Museum at Point Cook.

Built for U.S. Navy as PBV-1A BuAer 68046 but operated in WW2 by USAAF as AO-10A 44-34082. Served Cathay Pacific as VR-HDS. Seen when Kenyan registered in the VP-Kxx 'colonial' series. To N1508V in 1954.

Canadian Vickers Canso built as RCAF 11060. Used by Executive for surveys using anomaly gear and 'stinger' tail. Later to Point Cook Museum as 'A24-104'.
