Built as an F-15A-1-NO. Previous identities were 45-59300, NACA 111, N5093V and XB-FUJ. While operating with NACA it was designated as EF-15C. Damaged beyond repair on 6 Sep 1968 at Hollister, California, while being operated by TBM Inc. The pilot attempted to take off with a full load of fire retardant from a runway too short for conditions. The aircraft ran off the end of the runway, through a fence and across a field, ripping off the landing gear and catching fire.

In one of the airship hangars that stood at Orly, a German entry is weighed for the first edition of the Challenge International de Tourisme. It is the sole example of the Arado L.I, designed for the event by Hermann Hofmann. On 5 August the plane crashed as the wing failed during aerobatics that were not part of the Challenge. The pilot lost his life - Hofmann, who knew that his aircraft was not stressed for aerobatics! Photo from: Hagley Museum and Library

Single-seat helicopter powered by pulse-jet engines on the rotor tips, developed for USAF and US Army. It was designed to be air-droppable for rescue and observation purposes, but not proceeded with although the five prototypes proved to be rugged vehicles. The maker was bought by Fairchild in 1954. A development of the Ha 139 retaining the seaplane's inverted gull wing, the BV 142 first flew on 11 October 1938. Like the Ha 139 it was intended as a long-range mailplane, in particular for Lufthansa's Stuttgart - Natal route. The four prototypes built were used for transport and maritime reconnaissance missions after the outbreak of the war, but found to be of little military value.
