The Swiss AF operated Hawks, but not this one and not even one with this serial (the highest serial was U-1270). The Swiss AF sold its Hawks to Finland in 2007. These entered service there between 2011 and 2013 and are scheduled to remain in service until 2030. To make it even more complicated, this preserved aircraft is a former Finnish AF aircraft. However, not one of the former Swiss aircraft, but one of the original batch delivered in 1980 (former HW-370, obtained by the museum in 2018).

It was formerly G-PTWO and is pictured waiting to line up on rw03 for departure (this took some time as rw21 was in use) after displaying at this super show. . To reduce costs during development the Swiss recycled parts from surplus, older aircraft already in their inventory. for example, landing gear from their Messerschmitt Bf 109s and the similarity can clearly be seen.
