This F-4E was assigned to the Thunderbirds from 1969 through 1973. In 1970 it was #7, the narrators a/c. The #7 F-4E was also the spare aircraft for airshow performances in case one of the six show birds had a mechanical issue. 66-0286 was the third F-4E built and after the Thunderbirds was assigned to the USAF Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, CA. It is currently on display as a veterans memorial in Battle Mountain, Nevada.

This F-4E was assigned to the Thunderbirds from 1969-1972. On 4 June 1972, flying as #3, it had a structural failure of the horizontal stabilizer and crashed during the Transpo 72 Airshow at Dulles Airport, Washington, D.C. The pilot had a good ejection, but during his descent the wind blew his parachute into the burning aircraft wreckage and he perished.

This F-4E was assigned to the Thunderbirds from 1969-1973. Later assigned to the USAF Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, CA. Retired in September 1991, it is on display as a veterans memorial in Monet, Missouri.

This F-4E was active with the Thunderbirds from 1969-1973 and flew as the slot a/c, #4. The slot a/c flies behind and slightly below the lead F-4E. As a result, number #4 vertical fin and rudder are in the exhaust of #1, causing the dark staining. It was not cleaned off during the season to show how close together the a/c flew. After the Thunderbirds switched to the T-38 in 1974 this a/c was assigned to the USAF Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB. Retired in 1991 and eventually scrapped.

The USAF Thunderbirds operated the F-4E 1969-1973. F-4E 66-0302 was the lead (#1) a/c in 1970. It had a fairly short life with the USAF, being retired in September 1977. It was on display for many years at McDill AFB, Florida, but was scrapped in 2016 due to severe airframe corrosion. It is difficult to identify the Thunderbird airframes as the USAF s/n is not displayed on the aircraft. The USN Blue Angels do display the USN Bureau Number on their aircraft.

F-4E 66-0319 was assigned to the Thunderbirds from 1969-1973. It was the #2 a/c in 1970, and appears to have had that designation for all four years. In 1974 it was assigned to the 4th TFW, and in 1978 was assigned to the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, CA. It was retired in September 1991. It is currently on display at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5146 in Athens, Tennessee.

This C-130E was providing logistical support for the USAF Thunderbirds who were performing at the airshow. In 1970 the 516 TAW was based at Dyess AFB, Texas.

N700A was purchased by Bill Fornof in 1969. By 1970 it was painted in the Cadillac Bronze scheme to match his other F8F N7700C. For the 1970 airshow season Bill's son, Corky Fornof, flew N700A as part of a two aircraft display while his Father flew N7700C. Their routine was loosely based on US Navy Blue Angel maneuvers, including head on passes as well as two ship overhead formation maneuvers. This airshow may have been their first public showing, as it was early in the airshow season as well as being at their home airfield.

No idea what the words on the side indicate. Parts from this airframe were used to repair another of type that got damaged prior to 1981, but apart from that there's no history. The Monarch Britannia behind is the one now preserved at Duxford.

It is here arriving for import into the UK where it became G-AYEN. The BCAR shows the c/n as 43835 which is a corruption of the original USAAF serial 43-835. The old fashioned fuel pump probably dates back to 1939 when the airfield was opened.

This 1-11 served BUA from November 1965 until merger into Caledonian//BUA in November 1970. Sister ship G-ASJF is in the background with a Wardair 707.

Built in 1952 as F-BGPN and operated by the Aero Club du Touquet. Returned to the UK in August 1969 as G-AXMN.

Ex BUA. Operated by British Midland Airways from January 1969 until November 1973.

Wears 'D-Day' stryle invasion bar markings and incorrect 'serial' 643147. This aircraft was built for the USAAF as 44-74494.

436 Squadron C-130E delivered in August 1968, still in service in 2005, latterly with serial 130327.
