The prototype Heron 1b, utilised Dove components. Seen having maintenance by Executive Air Engineering, it left Baginton on 13 Dec 1966 having been sold in Denmark as OY-DGS. Eventually found its way to Australia and is now preserved by the Moorabin Air Museum.

The guys from the Visiting Aircraft Section posing on top of what was a rare aircraft for Sharjah. Normally based at Akrotiri, Cyprus, the aircraft's routing was via Nairobi, then to Ndola, Zambia, where the squadron was on detachment for 9 months. Suffered a 'hard landing' at Manston and "damaged beyond repair" on 11th May, 1967 whilst being returned to the UK for storage. Allocated 7972M and scrapped there in 1990.

Newly built, still in bare-metal finish. Plate on a/c read "c/n H.A.L.K.c/748/506, built by HindustanAircraft Ltd(Kanpur) at Chickesi." Interestingly I cant find anything about "Chickesi." Anyone have any information? D.B.R in accident at Hyderabad 5th March 1984.
