Armstrong-Siddeley's Mamba turboprop test bed displaying at the 1954 Coventry airshow from its base at nearby Bitteswell. The Mamba, in double form, powered the Fairey Gannet. A/c later re-engined with P&W's and served in the Caribbean and USA until the late 1990's.

Blackburn Aircraft-built Swordfish outside Faireys Hangars at Ringway immediately after it had been set on fire to train the firemen visible here. Sheer vandalism of an historic aircraft in a less enlightened age!

This Airviews Dragon Rapide was based at Ringway from 09.51 until sale in 11.56. It is being refuelled from a vintage Shell Mex tanker before further weekend pleasure flying duties.

TAP's Skymaster taxies past the public enclosure, with its very low wooden fence, towards the Heathrow North apron. CS-TSA, with minute registration on its fin tip, served TAP from 05.47 until transfer to the Portugese AF as 6606 in 12.60.
