Armstrong-Siddeley's Mamba turboprop test bed displaying at the 1954 Coventry airshow from its base at nearby Bitteswell. The Mamba, in double form, powered the Fairey Gannet. A/c later re-engined with P&W's and served in the Caribbean and USA until the late 1990's. This photo is copyright © R.A.Scholefield, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
