The aircraft seems to have a colourful striped fin but only has a yellow tailband in reality; the blue is shadow and the red is a clamp on the rudder. It was built in many variations by a dozen German companies, Jeannin Fllugzeugbau from Berlin - Johannisthal producing the Stahltaube with a a steel tube fuselage frame. This magnificent strange exhibit looks this way as the remainder of the aircraft has been taken away for restoration. It is a composite of three aircraft, one recovered from a lake in Sweden, another from Sweden and the wings of an Avia C.2B. Built in 1943 this training aircraft in the Technical Museum should look fantastic when complete.

This aircraft was delivered to the Luftwaffe on 28th November, 1939. It force landed on a frozen lake on the Kola Peninsular and sank when the ice thawed. It was recovered in 1993 and restored in Hungary before being transferred to the Technical Museum in Berlin.
