Still in the basic colours of the RAF's Queen's Flight with whom it flew as XR391. Seen here parked in the then Bay 2 of Prestwick's Main Terminal for an overnight stop before flying transatlantic to the Saunders Aircraft Company at Gimli, Manitoba, for conversion. Became Saunders ST-27 c/n 007 which first flew as C-FCNT with Otonabee Airways before joining Air Labrador. Written off in 1984 due to a landing gear collapse at St John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Still in its Queen's Flight livery, this Heron was loaned to 781 NAS from 24 September 1969 to 8 July 1970 when it went to 60 Squadron, RAF Germany. Sold to Saunders Aircraft Corporation on 20 December 1971 as CF-CNT for conversion to ST-27 (new c/n 27-007), and written off on 25 August 1984.

Delivered to the RAF in June 1961 for operation by the Queens Flight - hence the overall red scheme. At date of photo it was being prepared for use by 60 Squadron. To Saunders Aircraft in December 1971 as CF-CNT for conversion to ST-27.

This aircraft was converted from a De Havilland Heron, with the four piston engines replaced by two PT-6 turboprops and with the fuselage stretched. Only 13 such conversions were made.
