Missing presumed w/o over Antarctic Sea 09 Dec 2019. Crashed near waypoint DRAKE. Wreckage found 11 Dec 2019 38/38 dead

Assigned to the 16th Special Operations Squadron and deployed to Bagram air base (Aghanistan), this gunship was forced, during a night combat mission over Helmand, to divert to Kandahar airfield after engine 4 went unserviceable (see the propeller in feather position). After its military career, this gunship went into storage at Davis Monthan, AZ in April 2014.

Most probably taken at Alverca. This Herc was delivered to Cameroon in September 1977 as TJX-AD. The aircraft was reserialled to TJX-CD.

A 911 Air Wing C-130H shot on 9/11.

This aircraft took heavy damaged (March 2000) when landing with its gear-up. This happened at Lagos-Murtala Muhammed in Nigeria.

This gunship was shot down by a surface to air missile during Operation Desert Storm on 31 January 1991 (calling "Spirit03"). Locations given on the internet differ. The Aviation Safety Network reports 'near Ras Al Khafji, Saudi Arabia', whereas C-130net mentions '110 kilometers south-southeast of Kuwait City, Kuwait'. All 14 crew on board were killed. This was USAF's largest single loss during Desert Storm. The Ghostrider is seen here at Ramstein, operated ny 16 SOS (the same unit it flew with in 1991).

Part of the temporary detachment of 3 Gunships based few weeks in Djibouti during the Somalian crisis in 1993. As all others AC-130H, it was equipped with : 2 x 20mm M61 Vulcan cannon , 1 x 40mm L60 Bofors cannon and 1 x 105mm M102 howitzer. Has been Wfu and stored to AMARC in 2014.
